You probably think that your vacuum cleaner can only be used to suction up the floor. But did you know that there are other ways to utilize it? If you think about it, it’s a machine that uses suction to clean up messes. It’s not surprising that this function can be used for other things. Here are five unique ways that you can use the machine.
1. Pet Grooming
Grooming your dog can be a chore. It can take a lot of time to groom your dog, depending on the breed. If you don’t groom regularly, it can leave a mess on your furniture and clothing. Fortunately, you can use your vacuum cleaner to groom your pet. That’s right. With your cleaner, you can use the suction to brush it throughout your pet’s fur.

2. Fix Carpet Indentations
It can be annoying to deal with carpet indentations. This tends to happen if you place heavy furniture over an area for an extended period of time. If you try to remove the indentation with your hands, you’ll notice that it just won’t budge. This can be a bad look if you’re remodeling or trying to place different furniture in the same spot.
A simple trick to get rid of the indentation is to use your cleaner. Simply place an ice cube on each of the indented areas. Let it melt away on its own. The moisture of the melted ice will into the indentation and make the carpet more malleable. Then you want to set the suction level to high and run through the area with the vacuum cleaner. This will stretch out the carpet and remove the indentation.
3. Unclog Your Drain
Your drains can get clogged with hair and dirt. Fortunately, you can suck out the clog with your cleaner. The method usually works if you have a flat sink as opposed to curved sinks that are common in many bathroom sinks. Bathtubs are usually flat, so you’ll find that this method works very well for them.
All you have to is to attach the header on top of the drain and turn the suction level to high. It’ll start to suck in the dirt and hairs that are clogging up the drain. 4. Freshen Up Your Home
The next unique thing you can do is to freshen up your home. Air fresheners are great but what if you want to spread the scent throughout your entire home? 5. Freshen Up Your Mattress
Mattresses develop odors over time. A great way to keep it fresh is to use your cleaner to deodorize it. A powerful and safe deodorizer you can use is baking soda. Sprinkle the baking soda all over your mattress or mattress covers. Let the baking soda sit there for around two hours. It will start to absorb odors coming for your mattress and/or covers. After two hours have passed, clean up the baking powder with the machine and your mattress will start smelling fresh again.
